Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 31st Lake State Golf Classic will be at your pace. Meaning you can play any day between July 17 and August 28, 2020 at Wild Bluff Golf Course in Brimley, MI or at a favorite course near you. This is an opportunity to interact with LSSU Alumni and Friends, keeping safe through social distancing, while raising funds in support of Laker students.
How Will it Work?
The Classic will still be a golf scramble, best ball format in foursomes, split up into two divisions. The first division will be those that play their round at Wild Bluff out in Brimley, MI. The second division will include those foursomes that play at other golf courses.
Wild Bluff Division
The first division will be those that play their round at Wild Bluff Golf Course in Brimley, MI. Entry fee to the Classic is $100/person ($400/team). The $100 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart with the remainder earmarked to advance initiatives at Lake Superior State University.
After golfing, teams will simply turn in their scoreboard at the Wild Bluff Club House. Teams will be flighted based on handicaps, with scores being updated weekly via the LSSU Foundation website and Facebook page.
To book your tee time at Wild Bluff after registering, please contact Matt Phipps at Wild Bluff at (906) 248-5860 or firstname.lastname@example.org, and mention you are part of the Lake State Classic. Please register with us before contacting Wild Bluff.
Wild Bluff will make every effort to accommodate your tee time, but please book well in advance to ensure the best possible date and tee time.
Play Your Own Course Division
The second division will include those foursomes that play at other golf courses. The entry fee will remain at $100, with 100% of the proceeds supporting your initiative of choice at the University.
Those who play in the second division will be responsible for their own golf, but it will give those the opportunity who are not comfortable traveling to Wild Bluff the ability to participate. After finished playing, golfers will e-mail their player names and team total to email@example.com. Please include first name, last name, phone, e-mail, and total score for each foursome.
Teams must register and pay before they play in the Lake State Classic tournament. Last day to register in the tournament is August 7, 2020
Round (18 holes) will be played between July 17th and August 28th, with an online auction taking place during the final two weeks leading up to the end of the tournament. Stay tuned for information on the online auction.
