This scholarship was established in 2007 by LSSU employees, alumni, and friends of the University in support of those students who are members of the LSSU track and cross-country team. In October 2010 the scholarship was renamed to honor Dillon F. Menard who died unexpectedly at the age of 19 in August of that year. Successful candidates must be a member of the LSSU track or cross-country team who is not currently receiving any other athletic scholarship, with at least 26 credits and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
