izaak-walton-league-logoThis scholarship was established to ensure the mission of the Izaak Walton League “to save outdoor America for future generations.” Named after Izaak Walton, the 17th century English angler-conservationist who wrote the literary classic “The Compleat Angler” it serves as a constant reminder of their mission. During the 1960s and 1970s the League launched the Save Our Streams Program and broke the political ground necessary for passage of the landmark 1972 Clean Water Act. The scholarship recipient must be a Sault High graduate majoring in the fisheries and wildlife management program with a 3.0 minimum GPA.
