This endowment was established to assist sophomore students who are majoring in any LSSU School of Engineering and Technology program. Many Lake Superior State University engineering students are employed by Precision Edge or have worked for the Company since its inception. Selection is based on the recommendation of the LSSU School of Engineering & Technology faculty. Precision Edge Surgical Products Company LLC is a world-renowned manufacturer of precision surgical components, cutting tools, instruments, and accessories. The company was founded in 1989 as a bur manufacturing facility near the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. originally operating in a 1,100 sq. ft. facility. Today the company has expanded to operating in a 37,000 sq. ft. facility in Sault Ste. Marie employing over 180 highly skilled workers – many LSSU engineering students and alumni.
