farmerDr. Timothy A. Farmer established this scholarship in 2012 to benefit students majoring in one of the physical sciences programs who wish to pursue a education and career path in scientific research. A 1979 LSSU graduate, Dr. Farmer went on to earn a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees at the Ohio State University. His career was spent in higher education, holding faculty positions at University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Missouri-St. Louis. In 2010, Dr. Farmer received the LSSU Kenneth J. Shouldice Award that honors alumni for their personal and professional achievements. Recipients must be of least sophomore status majoring in Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Science or Geology with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
