program_photo_waybrantClifford (Rube) Waybrant of Pickford, Michigan established this scholarship in recognition of the quality of care his wife, Bernice, received in the War Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit. To him, it was a creative way to thank the nurses. “The nurses have been giving Bernice such great care that I wanted to find a way to show my appreciation. Many of the LPN’s are people who go back to college but find there are very few scholarships available to them”. Successful candidates must be a full-time nursing student enrolled in the LPN program who is a graduate of a Chippewa, Mackinaw or Luce County High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based on the recommendation of the LSSU Nursing faculty.
