The named scholarship is established by Hazel F. Mulligan (1916-2010) through a bequest stipulating that a nursing scholarship be created in the name of William (1912-1997) & Hazel Mulligan. Hazel was a homemaker, avid bridge player, golfer and accomplished painter. She loved to travel and did so with her husband and many friends. William and Hazel were married for over 60 years until his death in 1997. Hazel passed away in 2010 at the age of 94. Recipients must be accepted in the BSN program with at least 26 LSSU credits and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
